Last few days of Halloween

Halloween night is coming in a few days, but our Halloween have started weeks ago. It starts with deciding on costumes for each member of our family, then changing our minds a few times, then finally purchasing or making them... then changing our minds again.

Then, of course, there are pumpkin patches, seasonal pony rides, Halloween parties, fall festivals, haunted houses, mazes, and more pumpkin patches. With kids, there is as much Halloween around as you could possibly handle. I can handle a lot.

After every visit to the pumpkin patch, one or more pumpkins hitchhike home with us. We carve them, gut them, decorate them, and display them. Soon after, they rot. Over the years, I've learned to appreciate and even like this fact. Just as decay starts to settle in, a bright joyful pumpkin becomes a lot more appropriate for the scary part of Halloween. With every day, there are more black spots, wrinkles, smell and death surrounds once happy-looking object. It is almost like watching aging process in fast forward. It is creepy and beautiful at the same time.

The day after Halloween, I will put on some rubber gloves and scoop up the rotten pumpkins. I will hide them in a trashcan and they will be soon forgotten.

Here are a few pictures of rotting pumpkins. Enjoy.

Some pictures in this hub are "super gross," according to my 5-year-old. So, look at them at your own risk.

As a photographer, I create a lot of pictures. Some have a great commercial value and sell for lots of money, some... well, let's just say I have a lot of pictures nobody have ever seen.

I make money with Shutterstock, it is a microstock company. (Click here to learn more and maybe to become a contributor yourself.) Also, check out my portfolio HERE.

I have some of my silly pictures on Flixya (Click here if you want.) I don't make money there, but it is fun to do anyway.

You have written a hub on a subject that everyone is thinking but no one dares to speaks of. More power to you, brave soul.
