My two month anniversary on Hubpages.
63Seeing (a little) green
What I have accomplished in two months and how it measures up.
- I have published 51 hubs. Most of them have my original pictures. (I sell pictures through Shutterstock, a micro stock company, so I always have plenty to show.) This number is actually above my first-month's hopes of doubling the number of my hubs. I managed to created 24 in the first month.
- I have 118 comments to my articles. Most people around here are very friendly, open and willing to share. I have talked with people all over the world and very much enjoyed it. I think positivity and friendliness of people on Hubpages is what makes Hubpages the place to be.
- I have made and continue to make many friendly connections and learning so much!
- Speaking of friendly people, I have enjoyed visits from more than 3,050 readers. I have ambitiously hoped to reach 3,900 views by this time, as I have stated in my hub about the first month on Hubpages. I need to work harder at promoting my hubs.
- Forty-six people decided to follow me. Thank you for your trust, I so much appreciate it! However, I have hoped to double the number of followers from the first to the second month and get 52 loyal followers by now. If you are not following me, why aren't you?! Come on, click that button to follow!
- After the first month on Hubpages, I realized that I would need to venture into more subjects than just photography galleries and art-related themes. This month I wrote a few Haiku poems; a short biography of Joseph Stalin's daughter, who passed away recently and created several hubs with free stock photos. I also wrote one sarcastic humor piece about my huge earnings on Hubpages.
- This brings us to a sore point about earnings. At the time I am writing this, I have earned exactly $5.76 total. This includes Hubpages, AdSense and Amazon earnings. AdSense have given me a few cents; I received 72 cents commissions from selling one book on Amazon; the rest came from Hubpages. Once again, my hopes and expectations were higher than the real numbers. As I received more views, I hope to get more money. If not for a great community on Hubpages, comments and conversations, this would have been a point to quit.
Conclusion after two months on Hubpages.
I have enjoyed writing for Hubpages and will continue doing so.
However, Hubpages activities should not take priority in my life.
As a newcomer, I have put my best foot forward in the last two months, creating more than 50 hubs and occasionally participating in Hubpages forums. I like socializing and providing free information to friendly strangers, but these activities do not pay the bills. I am very far from being independently rich, so I have to work hard to pay my bills. I have hoped that Hubpages would help me to combine pleasure and business by providing a social creative outlet, while earning enough money to pay a few bills.
So far, this has not happened. After being here for two months, my earnings per day are embarrassingly low. On top of this, if I am not active for a day or two, my earnings stop accumilating almost entirely. Some people mentioned an idea of Hubpages being a possible long-term passive income generator, so far I do not see truth in this idea.
I will write my next report about earnings and accomplishments at six months mark, which will be at the end of April. Watch for it!
Thank you for reading this hub, please read a few others!

The first frost of the season. Photo Gallery.
The first frost finally came to our area. Early morning sun rushed to melt off the white cold drops. Before they completely disappeared, I took a few pictures. Please enjoy them!

Song about Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer have been popular for generations. But it started as a simple promotional booklet.

I think this hub is pretty funny, but as a new and hopeful hubber, I'm sorry to hear that you are not making more money at this.
