One snowflake, a poem
60
I thought the snow would never come
To our forgotten yard
With only rotten leafs and last year's grass
Stand silently on guard.
The air - warm on a winter day;
The trees - all naked, but not chilled.
I sigh and look for white from sky -
For a lonely snowflake I'd be thrilled
And then, from distant blind clouds,
From Northern places very far,
I see a visitor, all white and perfect -
Unique and sparkly like a star.
I catch the snowflake in my palm,
If for a moment it is mine.
But then the snow melts
And I again, just wait and sigh.

A lovely poem, well done and voted up!
An awesome poems that deserves votes up. Nice word selections and phrase usages. An excellent interpretation of how someone feels while waiting for the first snow flake.
